A helpful guide on how to effectively rate films

Over these past few weeks I have been thinking of an effective rating system for films using a simple equation... But I've since decided that numbers are by no means effective ways to rate a film. Since films are visual stories and can be incredibly dynamic we should (or at least attempt to) rate the film with visuals.

Over all movie (Entertainment value):

From:
Being very boring--you were not entertained.

To:
Being quite worthy of applause--you are sufficiently entertained.

(And anywhere in between.)

So now that we know if the film is entertaining or boring, we need to establish how watchable the film actually is (how disturbing are the images that you see, etc).

From:
Being quite easy and pleasant to watch.

To:
Being uncomfortably disturbing--not very watchable.

Next up we should state how dynamic the film is--is it confusing or not?

From:
Being incredibly simple it's almost stupid.

To:
Being outrageously mind blowingly dynamic and, if you're smart enough, think hard enough, or watch it enough times, you can understand the film.

And since we've all seen the films that are very confusing simply because there is no rhyme to the madness, we should also include an added rating to be able to slap on the films that make you say "Wut?" and not in the good way:

(This is how I'd rate The Assassin)

Finally, we need to let people know if we recommend the film after all the other elements have been stated:

Sometimes, if the film is good enough, you might want to add a little bit more of a push to get someone to watch it:
