Yet another of my Summer of 2013 poems.
This poem is about exactly what the title says, perception. I wrote it to be very abstract. I wanted the meaning of this poem to rely on the readers perception of the poem. Since it is about what it means to the individual, it is a poem that each person needs to read for themselves. Your perception of the poem is revealed with that last word.
“Perception”
Dead the love of long days past;
Battered, beaten, bullied and broke.
The ancient seas, land be clasped;
Choking, croaking, sullied and stuck.
Like heaven gleams, and hopes it raze;
Grim, gory, ghoul'd in gunk.
Gone forever, never a days;
Told, taken, torn amuck.
The cherries eaten, poison and rot;
Slashed, stricken, cold and cuffed.
Laughter of god, wrath has wrought;
Folly'd, fooled, feeble and f...
