This is another that I wrote in the summer of 2013. This was my first sonnet. I inspired by how simple yet meaningful the Shakespearian Sonnet can be. Please share your thoughts!
Sonnet I
“The Days to Come”
“The Days to Come”
I thought it'd be special,
I thought it would be kind.
It was to be a ritual,
One strengthened by a time.
I hid from it so long,
My eyes and hid my face.
All too well, but never too strong,
And now I've locked my case.
Forever hands are tied.
Alone I walked to here,
And I have finally realized,
You have been so near.
But I'm not sad, there was no equal,
No grain for me, of all the people.
