“The Writer's Creed”
I string words like a potter molds clay,
Like a taylor mends his suits,
Like a barber cuts hair.
I use emotions like a player throws the ball,
Like a musician plucks his strings,
Like a singer sings songs.
I fake feelings like the preacher says his prayers,
Like the lawyer defends the innocent,
Like the senate protects the people.
- Antonio G.
Well said. As writers, we can create worlds, places, times and people which do no exist. We can escape to places or eras we could not otherwise travel to. And we can weave stories among historical events and those we imagine as being in the future.
